Todd Bramble- Head Coach George Mason University
Rachelle Beanlands- University of Maryland Goalkeeper from 2011-2015"Laurie brings the perfect blend of knowledge, experience, intensity, and enthusiasm to her training sessions. Combine that with an extensive network of college coaches and the opportunity for development and exposure for future playing opportunities is hard to beat."
Duane Holt, former Baltimore Bays CoachCoach Pells is the real deal. She’s played at the highest level of women’s soccer, and it shows in her extensive knowledge of the position. Personally, I had an incredible college soccer experience with Pells as my coach and mentor; I looked forward to training every single day! Her sessions are hard work but amazing fun, and I found myself developing and learning without even realizing it. Definitely one of the best coaches I’ve ever had!
Roy HutchisonMy son, Drew (15 yrs old and HS sophomore) started attending the Pells Keeper School three years ago (2013). He is one of a few boys who attended the camp. Some may question why would I send my son to a female coach. My answer is because she knows what she is doing plain and simple. Laurie is a tremendous coach with great enthusiasm. She demands the keepers to challenge themselves and to work hard. Her instructions are spot on and the kids all understand what she is trying to tell them. She also leads by example, demonstrating the drills and slowing it down when she sees a correction is needed to make the keeper more effective.
I have put Drew in several camps run by men's college coaches and he always says, "I had fun and worked hard, but none of them push me as hard as Coach Laurie does." He just finished this year's camp and his first comment to me was, "I missed this." He has already said he can not wait til next year's camp. So my challenge to you moms and dads is take your son and send him to a camp like none other out there. Let him work hard because Laurie's only desire is to make your child a better keeper.
Tom CollamoreJenna trained with Coach Laurie all through middle school and as a result became the starting goalkeeper for Wilde Lake High School her Freshman year in the fall of 2015. She was recognized further as a top player in Howard County as the only Freshman to make the Howard County All County Second Team. Laurie’s focus on technique, discipline, and fitness inspired Jenna to become a fantastic keeper for Wilde Lake High School.
Dawn Murr-daughter Erin"The girls were like kids at a candy store at your camp. They are a bit sore (the good kind) and can’t stop talking about all they learned. Many thanks and we hope to see you soon! "
Renzo-daughter Bianca“Erin could not stop talking about everything she learned. She enjoyed your passion and knowledge for the goalkeeper position and loved your mentoring on work ethic and attitude.”
Scott McVicker. Daughter Courtney McVickerThis was my daughter, Bianca's, first goalkeeper camp and Laurie has set the bar quite high. Laurie's passion for the position and love for the game is very clear from the moment you meet her. The camp offered a very technical, but fun set of drills for the campers. We were warned of maybe feeling overwhelmed with the amount of information by the end, but the delivery and repetition was appropriate and always kept them hungry for more. Winning the Breakaway Challenge and pair of gloves was Bianca's highlight of the camp and she is hungry to do it again. Meeting the college players and receiving their instruction was also very exciting for her. We couldn't be happier with our experience and look forward to many more camps and sessions.
Laura Hinz. Daughter Heather HinzYou are quality as a goalkeeper trainer, role model and person. We are lucky to have you.
Laurie started training Megan when she was 11 years old and continued until she left for college. Laurie makes training fun, and always encourages while still holding the girls to a high standard. It is no surprise that Megan's little sister, Heather is now a keeper as she always enjoyed watching Megan's training sessions with Laurie. Laurie has a way with being able to see small imperfections in technique and helping her students make the corrections. If you are looking to take your goalkeeping skills to the next level, I would highly recommend Laurie's camps and/ or training sessions.
